Secure QR code Ubiqod Key
Why are classic QRs unsafe?
Printed QR codes are easy to duplicate. A simple photo, and users can use them from anywhere.
You may be putting your organization at risk by using them.
Ubiqod Key innovation
The rotating secure QR code Ubiqod key changes at regular intervals to prevent cheating and prove presence without geolocation.

When is the use of a secure QR code recommended?
In all professional applications of QR codes, it is essential to consider the required level of security. Here are some specific scenarios where secure QR codes are highly recommended:
- Proof of Personnel or Subcontractor Presence: When QR codes are used to verify the presence of personnel or subcontractors, secure QR codes prevent fraudulent check-ins or tampering.
- Action Triggers (e.g., Removal or Service Requests): If your QR code initiates an action, such as a service or removal request, a secure QR code is crucial. Without security, malicious users could inject false requests into your system, causing operational disruptions.
- Order Placement (e.g., at Restaurants): In scenarios where QR codes are used for placing orders, such as in restaurants, secure QR codes protect against exploitation by competitors who might place fake orders, leading to wasted resources and financial loss.
How does Ubiqod Key secure your operations ?
A secure QR code that changes regularly
Ubiqod Key displays a QR code that changes at regular intervals (default is every 10 minutes, but it can be customized for larger volumes). Therefore, if a user takes a picture of the QR code and tries to reuse it later, our system will detect it. The invalidation time is approximately equal to twice the refresh frequency. In most cases, this value is sufficient to prevent cheating. It can be combined with other Ubiqod security systems to identify fraud attempts.
High level of security
Ubiqod Key is a patented technology which uses random increments encrypted in AES 128. Each time a code is scanned, the Skiply server authenticates the request with a digital certificate.
Wireless and not connected
Ubiqod Key does not require any connectivity. The technology uses the users’ smartphones to transmit data. The battery life is generally 12 months for a standard 10-minute refresh interval, at 20°C, and with high-quality batteries.
Can be used as a printed QR code
For users, the dynamic QR is used like a printed code : they can scan the code with their camera or a dedicated application. No specific app is required.
