In IoT projects, integration is the key to success. With the new official Ubiqod Integration for Zapier, the owner of Smilio IoT buttons can use their data themselves, without an intermediary.
3,000+ apps are available to automate your work and build the value chain of your dreams.
What is Zapier?
Zapier is a no-code tool that helps non-developers to connect applications without writing a single line of code. With Zapier, you can send emails, store data into Airtable or Google Sheet, send SMS or post a message automatically to Slack. Possibilities are endless.
How it works?
Zapier will receive the data from your IoT device through a “Trigger”. Then, you can decide what you want to do with the data received. You can build the simplest possible app (sending an email each time that someone presses a button), or a complex workflow that will fully automate a process.

Zapier IoT with Ubiqod: flexible and fast
Zapier is a true game changer for building compelling proofs of concept, especially in the IoT industry where complexity is high. Setting up your system in really a matter of minutes if you are already familiar with Zapier. You can practice with this tutorial (it is using QR code, but principle is the same). With the integrated IoT simulator in the Ubiqod platform, you don’t even need to have real connected button to build and test your App.
Technically scalable
Using Zapier for IoT is not only suitable for Proof of Concept. From a technical point of view, it can handle an unlimited number of requests per day. It even has a retry feature that some IoT platforms aren’t able to compete with. Ubiqod platform with also help to have a manageable system at scale.
Imagine that you want to implement an on-demand service system. Every time a customer presses a button, you want to send a confirmation email to the customer, another to your responsible employee, and create a new row in Google Sheet for your archive.
All you need to do is enter the contact details of the people in the Ubiqod platform website page:
Each IoT device attached to this site will share contact details and position that you will use as dynamic fields for your “Zap”.
- Bonus 1: you can send the GPS position of the site automatically to help your team to complete the service.
- Bonus 2: you can check Sigfox network level directly in the interface to prepare your deployment
Also compatible with Ubiqod Key
Zapier IoT app can be used with Smilio devices, but also with static and dynamic QR codes like Ubiqod Key.
