For airports, the cleanliness and maintenance of restrooms are among the most important aspects for passengers. In a context of international competition, it is therefore essential for airport platforms to equip themselves with the most efficient tools to provide the best possible service in this area.
That’s why Zurich Airport has chosen Microshare’s EverSmart suite Clean solution.
Anticipating Problems
By combining data from multiple sensors, Microshare’s software is capable of managing cleanliness and maintenance interventions. This can involve corrective requests, for example when several users report the same problem in a restroom, or preventive requests, based on the frequency of use and using historical data.
Measuring Performance and Tracking Staff Movements with Clock E
To determine if the actions taken tangibly increase the quality of service, digital timesheet Clock E have been installed in all restroom blocks.
This latest generation connected terminal combines several features:
- Measuring passenger satisfaction, as well as precise reporting of problems
- Displaying the last staff visit to the concerned restroom, to reassure passengers about hygiene standards
- Staff check-ins using an NFC badge swiped at the terminal
‘With your evaluation, you can contribute to even higher cleanliness standards,’ explains manager Daniel Ammann to the Swiss newspaper Blick.
Technology at the Service of the Airport of the Future
Technologically, the time sheet uses low-power telecommunication technology and can thus operate for several years on batteries. The LoRaWAN network used is operated by Microshare, utilizing Kerlink technology.
And here, no more simple smileys that fail to convey the nature of the problems encountered. The cleanliness and maintenance of restrooms are now serious subjects that deserve appropriate tools to build the airport of the future.
